Teachers! we hear many excuses of your kids not doing their homework, but the most famous excuse of them all isssss: MY DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK!….I really don’t know what kids think these days…do they actually think we are going to believe them?
– my brother/sister tore my homework.
– I left it in my shirt and my mother put the shirt in the wash.
– My mum/dad/brother/sister thought it was rubbish.
– I thought it was due tomorrow/next week.
Did you used to make up excuses for not doing your homework? Please share with us 🙂
This is the teachers’ favvvvorite topic! Parents this is becoming a big issue nowadays and it’s like the new trend!
Everyday during dismissal half of the parents don’t show up, but who does instead? Either the nanny or the driver…If i were a parent I would do anything just to see my child‘s face at the end of the day and hug him and get into the car together and get ready to go home. Believe me it would mean the world to them!
This is one issue,,,however another issue is the homework. I had a few kids whose homework wasn’t done by them and when I asked them they would tell me my nanny did it or she is helping me with my school work. Say what????
Please note that the nannies or helpers in our community are not very well educated and their English isn’t that good. Many of my kids used to speak incorrect grammar because they used to copy their nanny.
Now that is shocking, first teachers are not sending homework for your nanny to complete it and second parents or siblings are the ones who are supposed to support.
Where is the family bonding? Where is the parent’s involvement? This just saddens me and please note that this will affect the child mentally.
Sleeping on the job: Baby Vittoria dozes while her MEP mother Licia Ronzulli votes!
Licia Ronzulli, 35, said she and Vittoria were campaigning for the better treatment of mothers who work but do not have the benefits that come with the European Parliament, with its creche and generous allowances.
“I am here symbolically with my daughter Vittoria to highlight all the women who cannot easily reconcile pregnancy and work, their professional life and their family life,” said Ms Ronzulli, an MEP from Silvio Berlusconi‘s People of Freedom movement.
“I want the European institutions to be more engaged on this subject, starting with the European Parliament, so that everyone is better able to lead these two lives together.”
“She is not asking for more maternity leave or something like that – she was back after one month – she is asking for society to rethink the role of women that want to have a child but sometimes have to choose between children and a job,” said Ms Ronzulli’s assistant.

Today I was in Art class and I noticed a cactus plant in the balcony. I used to hear this myth that cactus plants are bad to be replaced in the house or or somewhere near you. Is this true? Actually it’s the exact opposite. Cactus plants according to feng shui studies are used for protection.
There are a couple of different uses for cacti in Feng Shui. One is to offer protection and security in your home or office which is what we will address in this article. Another use is to shift a stressful energetic experience of another person to something more comfortable. View ‘Cactus as Energy Shifter’ for that information.
Cactus plants can be placed in bathrooms to counter bad chi/energies.
– It is also very good as a cure for any bathroom afflictions that you may encounter in your home. For example, if there is bathroom located in the North sector of your home, as the North sector represents your Career or Business, the bathroom situated there will have adverse effects on your job or business. By putting the cactus plant there, the bathroom’s energies are neutralised
– Best location is where there is plenty of sunlight in the bathroom. If no sunlight in the bathroom – get 2 cactus plants – place one in the sunlight – one in the bathroom – every few weeks exchange the cactus between the bathroom and the sunlight one.
– At any time if the cactus is weakened – change to a new one and dispose the old one into the dustbin outside your house.
– There is no time and date restriction for this placement.
– Size – about 1 inch – any shape – any color.
Stepping away from the traditional Birthdays, this year I wanted to do something special!
I wanted to give away free hugs because i wanted to spread happiness! And it worked.
My bestfriend and I wore T-shirts and gave away free hugs to people we didn’t know. It is a random act of kindness and a selfless act just to make others feel better. Smiles filled the streets of Beirut and that was our goal! To love each other, to spread happiness and smiles is what this world needs!
International Free Hug day is usually on the 3rd of July, but you can do it anytime you want! It was truly one of the best nights of my life!
Watch this Video of the guy who started this campaign it is very touching that it almost got me into tears.
Yesterday was the day where I met the parents of my kids…It was a great and positive day, the parents were amazing and a bit nervous about the upcoming year.
Parents tend to be worried all the time, if you are a parent you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about… Some parents came up to me and informed me of their child‘s behavior in class or where she wants her child to sit. I smiled and nodded and was pleased to get all these information from them. Some teachers get annoyed by this but I on the other hand don’t, I love to communicate with them because after all I’m teaching their kids and they all want what’s best for their child.
It is very important for you to attend the parent’s orientation in the beginning of the year, if you do not have time then make some time it’s not going to take more than 2 hours. In the orientation you will get to meet your kid’s teacher, visit their class, learn about school policy and procedures, dress code, rules, what to expect in each subject.
Have a great year teachers and parents!
By the way tomorrow is our first day of school! Exciting!! I have to wake up early tomorrow so good night everyone!
