Happy World Teacher's Day

teachers20picAstrology.com: Daily Feng Shui Tip‏

Today is ‘World Teacher’s Day,’ a time to reflect on the enormity of the job that anyone who enters this profession takes on. Tasked with educating our next generations, as well as offering insights and knowledge to those thirsting for same, this is the one profession that I honor above all others! Bringing an apple to a teacher that you respect and admire on this day might just make you more than teacher’s pet, since apples have long been believed to hold many magical powers! Long considered the ‘fruit of the gods’ (think Adam and Eve here), the apple is thought to hold the key to love and healing which teaches us lessons involved with both. In fact, apples are considered critical to the magic of October since they’re also considered to be the ‘food of the dead.’ (think All Hallow’s Eve here!) The apple is also a symbol of immortality. In olden times a branch of the tree which bore flowers and fully ripened fruit was carried as a magical charm to allow life everlasting to be sweet and fruitful. Cutting an apple in half and sharing with a loved one is believed to bring love everlasting. And cutting one into three pieces and rubbing it on infected or ailing parts of the body before burying them outside is believed to banish the illness. So bringing an apple to the teacher on this day does more than just make your mark, it wishes them a wonderfully full life, just like the gifts they give to us! Bless you teachers, bless you every one!
