Today I started packing up my classroom it’s starting to look empty. I look at my bamboo plant that spread the flow of positive energy to my class. I’ve spoken about it before You can check my post on my lucky bamboo plant here:

Lucky bamboo is one of the plants recommended by Feng Shui masters to improve Feng Shui and create a space where you feel safe and more energized.

I thought to myself Who am I going to give my  lucky bamboo to? Who will continue in spreading the flow of positive energy in the classroom …….ofcourse she is the one and only “Elzie Miranda!”

Elzie is my colleague at work who has always been there for me. Even though we were seperated this year our friendship grew stronger. This is when you know who your true friends are!.

Now I know that my lucky Bamboo is in safe hands 🙂

Overwhelmed, unorganized and out-of-touch. If any of this describes your family, it’s time to slow down, clear out the clutter and take back your family with Peter Walsh’s Stripped Down Challenge.

Between schedules that pull you every which way, a growing dependence on technology and the stress of daily life, it’s easy to let your life consume you. Now, it’s time to be the change in your household and provide the best life possible for your family. “The whole idea of stripping that stuff out of the house starts to get you back in touch with your home, which is so important,” Peter says. “Get the family back connected with each other.”

All you need is one week and Peter’s six Stripped Down Challenge rules. Get started!

I divided the class into groups after explaining and discussing the meaning of a desert. We discussed the plants and animals that live there as well as the weather.

I divided the class into 4 groups giving each group one contruction paper, picture of some animals that live in the desert, a cactus plant, and sand.

This main activity was to see they act with their teams. I emphasized that teamwork is very important. I assigned leaders in each group and they distributed the work amongst each other. Have a look at some pictures:

Since Children don't know the meaning of testing, there is a way where you could ensure that noone is looking at anyone by putting colorful folders for a way to hide their papers. They put their desks in rows during testing so that they'll know it's serious time and then when they are done they put their desks back into groups it only takes a minute.

The theme we were working on was how people work together. So i decided to have kids get magazines that they dont need anymore from home. They broguht the magazine to class and we had a collage. I told them they have to look for people working together. Some found a makeup artist putting make up for a girl, others found soccer players working together as a team, student and teacher working together etc.... This was the display outside the classroom door. I like to display students'posters outside so when parents come to pick up their children they will see what their kids are doing and at the same time it's class decoration.
